NEW BUSINESS

Belinda Skaggs resigns as secretary for Chapter 194 but will continue as member.  Lisa Williams was nominated for the position and accepted.

STATE MEET

A time trial ride for the SCRC State Meet was done on Friday March 6th for the first leg of the ride and Saturday March 7th for the second leg.  The Saturday ride was ridden at the posted speed zones with members leaving the motel at the last time for bikes out (8:00 AM) and completed within 9 hours.  This also included an extended time spent in Sallisaw and Akins visiting with Glendon Floyd, nephew of Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd.  Everyone enjoyed the ride and the stories of Mr. Floyd

EAGLE RESCUE

The members who came to work on the trailer for the Eagle Rescue program were thanked for their participation.  The trailer is ready for lights, paint and a toolbox.  The program information has been started and will continue to be fine-tuned in preparation for the State Meet.  The Eagle Rescue trailer and a demonstration of the program will be on exhibition at the meet.  Note:  An Eagle Rescue was performed on the Saturday ride.  We had a bike that wouldn’t start but after a little work they were up and running.  Good Job Guys!

FLIER

The flier for the State Meet is finished and all members are asked to e-mail or distribute to anyone who may be interested in participating.  A mention was made about sending the flier to Ride Oklahoma and other magazines to put in the events pages for more circulation.  The flier will also be sent to area radio stations for announcement.

RIB SALE

The rib sale has begun and Fletch will start smoking soon (Saturday March 14) members are asked to please pick up order forms and try to sell 10 slabs of ribs.  The cost for the slabs is $18.00.  The more we sell the better to cover expenses for the meet.

DINNER FOR SCRC MEETING

The dinner portion for the meet was put to a vote for catering.  There will be different caterers contacted and when the information on the cost and type of meal is collected then a final decision can be made.

SALLISAW MEAL

It was discussed and voted on the location for the meal in Sallisaw.  The location will be outside, downtown by the library.  Margaret Perry, liaison for the city and coordinator for various motorcycle events, offered to set up for hamburgers and hotdogs for riders to purchase.  This will allow riders to eat and listen to the stories told by Glendon Floyd and Jim Lesley.

DICE RUN

Discussion as to when and where it would be completed was discussed and the final decision was the dice rolls would be done at the Sallisaw stop with the riders rolling all 5 rolls.  The totals for the rolls will be calculated and the winners to be awarded in Shawnee after the end of the ride.  Registration packets will have the riders score sheet inside.  Sheila Greenfield volunteered to work the dice roll and would recruit her daughters to assist.  Any other members who would be willing to work on this with Sheila please let Tia know.

RIDE INFORMATION

The time has been set for the last bike to in at 6:00PM

ROAD CAPTAINS AND TAILGUNNERS

Volunteers were taken for these positions and another pre-ride for all participants will be done again before the meet to make sure that all are familiar with the ride route.  If there are any other volunteers for these positions please let Tia know ASAP.  We need at least 10 teams to cover the ride.

OTHER BUSINESS

Sunday March 15, 2009 the Goldwing Riders would like for the SCRC to participate in their meeting and discuss the June ride with their members.  Meet @ 2:00 PM at Shawnee Honda and ride to Ladonnas for dinner.

Next meeting is April 14. 2009.  Please attend and volunteer to help with any of the preparations for the State Meet.  If we can get all our members involved in one way or another this can be the best meet ever!!!!!!!!

Until the next meeting ride safe and often and enjoy the weather.
